My First Vegas Experience

Strip club, check… welp, and that’s it for my list! Haha, almost. Not that it was planned, it did happen though. One of the first things I did there was placed a $100 bet on black (Roulette) and the plan was to let it ride a few times. So, first hundred and the ball is spinning. As it plinkos its’ way to a stop, it was black. Up 100, I knew what had to be done next. “Let it ride!” The Plinko game returns. And what do you know, winner winner, chicken dinner! Now I’m up to 400 total and this was when everything changed. I hesitated. Instead of telling the dealer to let it ride, I paused a bit longer and ended up taking 200 out leading me at +100 in which the ball landed on red. That little bit of hesitation was what probably determined if I could have left there with $800 and the strip club would have been free, or leaving with -100. But we’ll never know. Instead, I ended up spending most of my expenditures at one place, which led me to borrowing money from a friend. Oh boy! Yeah, that happened.

Other than doing a lot of walking, which was great for my Fitbit and my health, we did catch ourselves an Adam Sandler break when we needed it. There was a marathon going on, even at the hotel we stayed at before our flight in had it going on. That was pretty cool. Except for when we were waiting in the car while one of our buddies was checking us in at the hotel. I was in the middle seat and one of the guys farted and I caught a big wind of it. We had to escape from the car which in turn led to me throwing up. Yeah, that was wild. So anyway, the Vegas. On our last night there, we were playing blackjack at the ole O’Sheas. Lady luck was on my side that night. Made enough to pay back my friend and had enough to eat again. What a win for me! Came in clutch. Although, we did have to stay an extra night to do so. Our flight got cancelled from a winter storm. So, we’ll think of it as overtime.

And that, everyone, was my first Vegas experience.

Until the second time…

Taking a Sh*t at Work

Other than ‘you’ve decided you’re comfortable dropping loads at work’, which is pretty satisfying. Butt… there’s more and there’s another reason behind that. Let’s be real, if you have to go, you have to go. The thing is we all pretty much can schedule our day of knowing if you’re setting yourself up to poop at work, home, or almost anywhere else. Assuming you know your body well enough, you’ll know what types of food will upset your stomach and which ones will settle just fine. Sure, you’re going to squeeze out a fart here and there. It happens. It’s just a question of how badly it smells or not that will determine your pooping future.

The other thing is, and let’s say it’s on just about an everyday basis, are people just taking advantage of getting paid while taking a dump? Is there a lot of free time for them to do so? Or maybe the job itself is what leads to doing these things. With me, I try not to when I’m at work. Afraid I might leave a trail of smell as if I’m constantly crop dusting. But one of my last jobs I would do the pooping several times a week. The job I was at I felt like I couldn’t move anywhere. As if I had maxed out in job position and my pay was as well. For the most part I did all I could and moved up as far as I’m able to. My boss did ask a lot from me but without the benefits. So… I do the pooping. Or should I say did. And with that, I’ll smell ya on the next one!

Instagram Is Intimidating

This isn’t a bad thing, except for me. You’re shown an opportunity to see what the world is like. The scenery from what this great planet has to offer. Even from what the Space Jams Telescopes has shown us throughout part of our lifetime (of course I’m referring to the Hubble and JWST) … and then you have me. Or maybe people like me as well, for that matter. I’m more of an observer than someone who likes to post. Seeing people that I know and even random strangers all over the world with posts that can inspire, motivate, make laugh, to just about anything. I feel like my life isn’t entertaining enough for me to post consistently. Which is exactly why I just like to scroll through and see what the world is up to. And I believe that’s what intimidates someone like me. I do like Instagram and its’ concept, but the problem might be comparison. And that’s the wrong way to look at it. You should never compare your life to others especially with what is seen on every individual’s posts. Just be the best you, for you, and no one else. And that’s what I’d like to do myself. Inspire change. Because you never know who you may inspire with just one post.

Why Rolling Your Eyes Are Bad For You

Is your vision messed up? Do you need or are you the type to wear glasses because of your eyesight? Well, good news, everyone! According to my theory, you can fix your vision, or at least stop it from getting worse as you get older. The answer is simple, just stop rolling your eyes… bear with me, I know it’s much more difficult than it seems. Especially if you have a condition. To those who do, I don’t blame you in any way.

CAUSES

Remember, this is just a theory I have, but from my experiences with people I have been surrounded by throughout my time, I’ve noticed things. And also, this is a great way to tell if you’re the type of person that actually pays attention to others by looking them in the eyes. Or eye, considering you can’t physically look at both eyes at the same time. Which causes some people to “wiggle” their eyes back and forth when they are having a conversation with someone, and they aren’t sure which eye to look at. Me, sometimes I actually look between the eyes, so I don’t have to focus so much on one or both. Anyway, I suppose you don’t have to look someone in the eyes to pay attention. But it at least lets them know that they are your main focus and nothing else. So, other than when you sleep and apparently your eyes do roll back to your brain so it can give your mind a visual of what your dreams look like (don’t mind this, just another dumb theory I have), when you’re awake and you do roll your eyes, there’s a chance you’re hurting them. Which causes your vision to blur more and more as you get older unless you cold turkey that shit. What’s happening is your eyes, while you’re awake, is just meant to give you visual of your surroundings. The beauty of what this planet has to offer and what people have made of it, even though some are bad, but the many goods that you see, you don’t want to miss out on that. It’s not considered normal to roll your eyes the way that you do. And there are multiple ways of it as well. I’ve seen some people almost what appears to be pulsating (or vibrating in a way) their eyes when they may have become irritated or by something else. I’ve actually tried it, and it hurts! I don’t recommend it.

The ORIGIN?

To me, it’s a little more than what genetics or something that’s within your DNA. But unfortunately, it might have something to do with those who raise you. As a baby, a child growing up, the people that raise you are the same people you look up to. So, what does that mean exactly? Well, there’s a chance it means you have a higher tendency to copy or mimic their movements. Before you even realize it, if they roll their eyes from something someone else has said, you, as a child, sees it. And if it just so happens to be more than a fair amount, you’ll find yourself doing it too. Or maybe the people that you surround yourself with growing up. Sometimes we do mimic others without realizing that we are, and it’s not to make fun, but who knows, maybe we like or respect them enough to pull off the same tendencies they do. With that, we can’t really help it. Just like if I’m hanging out with a friend who has an accent long enough, I’ll tend to start using their accent without noticing it.

CHANGE

Only you can change these habits about yourself. I’ve talked to several people about this and every so many years they have to change their prescription to adjust to their eyes and visuals. And like I’ve mentioned before, unless you have a condition, you don’t really have much of a choice. But, if by being aware of the situation you can change this about yourself and start noticing your sight has not worsen, then you’re welcome! Of course, there are moments in our lives that make us want to roll our eyes. Just remember there are alternatives to that. All you needed was the wherewithal about this part of your life and literally, your eyes can see what a wonderful night sky has to offer us, the landscape of mountains or whatever within your living area and so on. Then again, there’s always glasses. Not saying that everyone looks bad in them, but if you aren’t the type that likes to wear glasses or contacts, but would rather be free of it all, give this a shot. I really do hope this helps you. I have no say about this for myself considering I have never needed to wear glasses unless I’m just doing it for looks. But I’m very happy with how my sight has been for me…

And if somehow this message causes me to go blind, then I better have Daredevil-like skills/features where all my other senses enhance. Otherwise, tell my family I love them cuz I’ll probably be an absolute trainwreck if I were blind.

My Perspective On ACNE

As I’m sure anyone who has researched anything with acne, they tell you that it’s more common when you’re a teenager. But even as adults, you can still get them. Ever wonder why that is? Whatever anyone or anything you have heard or read from would tell you, the truth may be a little… different.

CAUSES

As one website has mentioned, greasy foods and hygiene are just a myth when it comes to break-outs. Yes and no. It really depends on the person. The thing is, you know your body better than anyone else. Have you ever tried eating certain types of food and coming to the realization that you break-out more than normal, or not at all? I have this theory that one of the main sources for why people get acne is from what they eat. I’m sure not all greasy foods will affect you, but some surely do. What it really breaks down to is the sodium. I’ve had more than my fair share of what is considered unhealthy food, and after several days to a week, I will start showing pimples. It took me a while to put the pieces together but eventually it really did come down to what I put in my body. And that is just the beginning. When it comes to your hygiene, it’s the lifestyle that you live that can cause more pimples to show up or not. And if that isn’t convincing enough, there’s always you constantly touching your face with your greasy and dirty hands (I’m guilty of this myself).

How To Fix It

If food is your enemy, of course I mean when it comes to this subject of acne, then seriously, start eating more of what mother nature has to offer. I mean fruits and vegetables that grow from this beautiful planet. Unfortunately, I’m still having issues with this myself. I do try to eat them when I can. Like I’ve mentioned before about you knowing your body better than anyone, figure out what works and what doesn’t. Experiment a little. Especially if you get pimples often. If you don’t then there might be something else clouding your judgement (don’t worry, we’ll get into that topic in another post ( 😉 wink)). So, with food already been discussed, it’s time to get to your hygiene. In the last paragraph I’ve only briefly mentioned how this causing more pimples. Depending on what you ate growing up, for years it’s going to affect you in some way. It’s the reason why some people naturally have more oily skin than others. And with showering daily or not does affect certain tendencies as well. Then again, who knows? Only you can figure that out for yourself. As long as you’re somewhat healthy, why not experiment with some things like I have. You might learn something.

The Unknown Breakout

Stress. That’s about it. During part of my high school, I have gone through some shit that I hope that others don’t have to deal with or worse. But one of my closest friends just out of nowhere (yes, like Randy Orton with his RKO), decided to roast me for days. Where it came from or why, I have no idea. The only explanation I gave myself was that if anyone made fun of you, it’s because they secretly had a crush on you. But I’ve been told otherwise. So, it is what it is. Anyway, a moments later, I mentally could not take it anymore. The insults, constantly being put-down and made fun of because my vocabulary was not the greatest at the time… it hurt. And because of only what I knew growing up from family and friends that influenced me, I did the only rational thing that I could. Which ended up with me yelling in disagreement with anyone. And unlike what we see in movies and TV shows, where the characters who go through alternating life events, talk their problems out with one another, I never had that happen to me. All I got was just being made fun of and holding that feeling inside. No one to talk to about it, because at least during this time, unless you have a therapist to talk to you can’t express your feelings to anyone because everyone will tell you to stop being a little bitch… and OMG did this spread like a virus. Generations after mine would go through similar situations and no one, I MEAN NO ONE! Would just have the decency to pull each other to the side and talk their problems out with each other. It’s sad. Because the truth is, we are all in a way like the iceberg in Titanic. Or in Hitch. Where 90% of what we’re saying, isn’t coming out of our mouths. And for those of you who still don’t know, it means we keep way too many things to ourselves and don’t talk about our problems and issues with… anyone! Unfortunately, this is part of being human. We are not perfect, and we will never be. But the least we can do is learn. Learn from our mistakes and learn from one another. Because that’s how we grow as a species. All I ask is that we stop for a moment and take the time to be aware of our surroundings.

The Breakdown

I’m sure professionals and anyone else that say they’re pros will tell you the difference between simple and complex carbs. That complex carbs are good for you. Which is true. But! In my perspective, let’s reverse the roles a bit. Natural carbs, as in what we get from fruits and vegetables, are the best carbs we could ask for. To me, I like to look at that as simple carbs. The complexity is when you start mixing ingredients together to form something completely exotic. Ramen noodles, SPAghetti, pizza and so on. Those carbs aren’t necessarily the best for you. Don’t get me wrong, they taste great! But that’s why we should be eating them only so often. Make a treat out of them. Do something that’s out of your comfort zone and that you know benefits you health-wise. Anyone who has pets, like dogs and cats should know better. You don’t feed your animal(s) treats all the time. You reward them when you feel they’ve done something that amazes you and whatnot. And that’s exactly how you should treat yourself. When it comes to being human, we have the will power to easily eat anything and everything we like. Just because it makes us feel good, but in the end, our stomachs aren’t saying the same thing and our bowel movements as well (unless you’re into that sensation). Look, the thing is we need to have better self-control. Otherwise, we’re just proving Wall-E right. That in the future we’re just going to become fat/obese and become mesmerized by modern technology and forget the beauty of what’s really in front of us. But it’s your life, do what makes you happy… and I mean really happy, like deep down and not what you show yourself to be in front of others. Just remember what you’re doing and how it affects others. Not just yourself.

Theories: Mind, Soul & Body

Where did we come from? Why do we exist? What’s in stored for our future? Just a few of many questions to the endless possibilities of what life has to offer. In this post, I will go through from my experiences and theories about these questions and many more…

Where Do We Come From?

Before you ask, I am human (as far as I know). At least I’m in a human body. And also, before you start questioning me, this is a theory by the way. Let’s go back in time to the evolution of humans. How we started out in the water and worked our way up to land and something something something, we formed into apes, we became human beings, and a movie about Planet of the Apes existed… Now, with that being said, when it comes to planet Earth, we have always been here. At least since our existence. But from starting fire and whatnot, our souls, our consciousness wasn’t always there. What if we were from elsewhere? Where that might be specifically, I couldn’t tell ya. But considering this beautiful planet and the life it formed, there just had to be something… human? into it.

Why Do We Exist?

There are so many theories on this question alone. But if I had to choose just one reason, it’s because we are being tested. Finding out if we can work together, get along, and thrive as a species. To make the world a better place. To quote Donald Trump’s ad campaign (in my own words), “make the world great again.” Or it’s just to see what we can do or accomplish with what we’re given. Who knows why we actually exist? But that is also part of being human. We’re not supposed to know everything. As far as I know when it comes to being human, we make mistakes, and we’re here to learn from it and make better life choices and carry that on to our off springs, at least to those who do have children. The other reason is because of evolution. So, if we just so happen to develop a consciousness, a mind of our own, then so be it. I believe that there’s more to it.

What’s In Stored For Our Future?

This one in a way goes hand-in-hand with existing. Our future in my opinion is to see if we can, as The Beatles would say, “Come Together.” To what the higher power would see it as, can we get along? Or maybe it’s just to see what a bunch of random jobins can do in this beautiful world we call Earth. If you’re a fan of Interstellar, then you’ll know that our time on this planet is limited. So can we take this species of humans and possibly other animals within our planet and move everyone and everything to another world to survive. To continue the life of not only the human race, but potentially other lives within this planet. I do give Elon Musk a huge amount of credit for wanting to colonize Mars. Because in order to expand our race, we need to see if we can explore the Galaxy… and eventually, the Universe.

Summary

Life can be difficult, believe me. But that’s kind of the point. We need difficulties to learn and overcome any obstacles that comes our way. To every one of us as individuals. Don’t result to the worst possible outcome. When you take the low road, it’s cheating. It means you’ve given up on this life you’re given. I know, because I’ve had these thoughts in my head about why I’m here and what’s my point. Like I’m chosen for a specific task or duty. Sometimes living life isn’t enough, so we have to do more. We have to be more. Otherwise, there is no future in this life. In humanity. If that’s all too much to ask of you, then at least live the best life you could ever live. No regrets. Mistakes are always made, but they’re mistakes we learn from. It helps us be a better person. And for those of you who do want to make a difference in this world, keep grinding. Keep putting in the hard work, because one day it will pay off. If there’s nothing you feel you would take from this, then hopefully this will… “Inspire change.” As they say. No matter who you are or what you do, you have the power to inspire and motivate those around you to make positive choices in life that could lead to so much more.

All it takes is you… be that inspiration.

What If…? (My Theory)

Blockbuster movies that I’m sure most of everyone around the world knows, the MCU. All the Marvel movies that have existed and other TV shows and movies when it comes to Science Fiction, was there to open our eyes to more. I’m sure you’re not asking, “what do you mean?” Well from my theory, as of lately, we’ve been shown more and more about what Sci-Fi has to offer. Infinite Universes, time travel (not my favorite subject), pretty much life existing outside our world. To this day, the reason why we haven’t come in contact with other people from this Galaxy, or the Universe even, is because one thing… we’re not ready.

Why is it that more recently we are seeing more and more about life outside of our planet? As in movies and television. What if… we are being shown what could be, because of what might be. If life existed beyond our world and we have yet to come in contact with them, my guess is because we’re not ready. I have this theory that people just wouldn’t believe it so soon, so sudden. Instead of calling them aliens, I still like to prefer to them as people, just from different parts of the Universe. If they can breathe, move, and have a consciousness like us, why can’t they be considered people as well? Their technology can be anywhere from below ours or way more advance to block our satellites from showing us more than what we deserve at the moment. From what JWST (James Webb Space Telescope) has taught us, the Universe looks insane in High Definition. But still… there’s more beyond that. As Buzz Lightyear would tell you. Or Adam Sandler in Click, well technically Christopher Walken. (I’m totally past my point) Just remember, these are just theories that I have about, not just our world, but what else is out there within the Universe. I’m sure there will be a time when we’re good and ready, that life outside of ours will be more than happy to come visit and get to know us on a more personal level. I would! I’m open to a lot of things in life. The question is… are you?

The Untold Story: About Life… so far

When it comes to people, how do you know you can trust them? Like really. I’m not trying to start anything or initiate some wrongdoing. All I’m saying is whenever you’re doing or saying something and people, whether they are your friends, family, or coworkers, they without letting you know might have more to express about you behind your back. Unfortunately, I’ve been in some similar situations. The problem is the individual or multiple people that are involved don’t say anything to you. And that’s where and when the problem begins. If you’re a very open-minded and observant person, you’ll notice some things. The truth is, all you expect in return is the truth. People to tell you when something is wrong, or when you may have something to do with the problem. Those are the people that I respect. But the issue I have is when things are unsaid. I’ve spent more than enough of my life to know that if something is wrong, I would like to know about it. That’s why anyone who tells me anything, I respect them whole heartedly. But then there’s the people who decide to keep things to themselves. Or at least with those they feel are close to them. How do you expect a relationship to be stronger if you can’t even tell the person you feel who is bothering you about a problem what’s wrong?

I’m sure a lot of this has to do with overthinking, but sometimes my overthinking personally has been right. But it’s been wrong at times… and then there’s your gut. When you have a gut feeling about something, like the old saying says… “go with your gut” or something like that. I honestly don’t know any more at this point. Everyone lives their own lives. There’s only so much we can do to change it. Pastors, Motivators, Phycologist, Teachers and whatnot. At some point in our lives, we need to be aware of what we know. And what we can change to better ourselves as human beings. Life is short. Make the most with what you have to work with. Just be sure it’s something positive and can give hope for generations to overcome adversity.

A.D.D. And Its’ Origin: The Simple Version

Whether it’s ADD or ADHD paying attention to many things can be difficult. I have a theory that how we are disciplined growing up affects our learning, not just with school, but with life as well. Let’s take schooling for example, I’m in class and the teacher is talking forever and it just seems like it’s never going to stop. The only thing that I’m waiting for next is when we get to start doing an activity. Something where I can be more hands on… but that moment never happens. At least in certain subjects of school. We go straight to paperwork, and I have almost no idea what I’m supposed to do next. This tells me one of two things, that I learn better from doing activities and possibly group projects. And then the other is communication. The style in teaching doesn’t seem to help me out a whole lot and I have to look at it from another perspective.

Blah blah blah then something about the parents or guardians (see what I did there?) of the child and how they are being raised affects their learning in school. Now, it depends on the teacher to point out which of their students are having a more difficult time learning in class. I want to assume that’s why we have Parent/Teacher Conferences. And that’s when we get to things like Extra Curricular activities. Instruments and other things of that nature that doesn’t necessarily involve words to learn opens up one’s skillset. Back in elementary school, I loved learning about pianos and keyboards. Through time, I taught myself how to play a beginner’s version of songs like the Titanic’s My Heart Will Go On, those nursery rhymes, and some of the hockey music you hear at the games. The reason why most Asians are good at math my guess is they were raised more disciplined. Words were not a strong suit of their elders. That’s why when you see in movies and TV shows, nothing the child ever does in school is enough to please their parents. I will say that is a little far-fetched. At least it wasn’t that way in my household.

Another good takeaway from this was when I was watching King of The Hill. There was an episode about how Bobby was diagnosed with ADD and it just hit me like a sack of potatoes. Bobby could not focus or pay attention in school. What he lacked was that verbal interaction and bonding time with his dad. Hank was always trying to avoid doing things with him that didn’t seem to pique his interest. So, pretty much what I’m informing is as a former child of my parents, learning was difficult for me as well. Some subjects I was great at and others, not so much. The lack of communication that I had with my family made it hard to pay attention in school. But I won’t blame them for any of that. I think I turned out alright. At least I can say that I’m well aware of it now.

But it’s not just school…

It’s one thing to speak, to say words, but it’s another to understand it. What do I mean? When I was younger, a child, and I didn’t get to have things my way, I would pout, I would cry. Sometimes I would get hit for making a scene (I was a very dramatic person without realizing it). The thing is, I never understood why I didn’t get the things that I wanted. That was my discipline. I believe that a lot of Asian cultures were like that, and still are probably. The use of words wasn’t a big thing as to parents wanting their kids to graduate from school and get a job or go on to get a degree from college and support the family. Don’t get me wrong, I still want to do what I can to support my family. It just has to be my way, doing what I love, and not having to work until I’m in my 60s at a job with no future. Another thing is we buy each other a whole bunch of scratch-off lottery tickets and hope for the best. After so many years of being disappointed from this, I know that’s not the way I feel I was meant to make a living and be successful. There’s so much out there, and I just want to capture the dream!

My Prom Night

Over a decade ago, it was my senior year and graduation was around the corner. But first, it’s time to get jiggy with it! Just days before prom (or weeks, I’m not really sure anymore at this point) I had gotten fitted for my suit. All white with pin stripes with a chain and top hat. That’s right, I went all out with the tuxedo get-up. So much so, when we went out to have dinner other customers at the restaurant thought I was getting married. The venue for our prom was pretty nice. At a location not at the high school gymnasium as movies typically show. Unless of course we were just really fortunate. And in that case, I’m really grateful for what was given to us. Nobody that I know of spiked the punch bowl, so it was a sober night for us.

For the longest time to this day, there was this girl that I had art class with whom I would share stories and feelings with. We were pretty close for the two semesters we had together. This is where the clueless person in me kicked in and if my hindsight of the situation is true, she had a thing for me. We got to know one another quite well for the short amount of time we were in class. I remember talking about another girl I had a crush on to her one too many times not thinking about how she felt. The reason for bringing this up was when I was slow dancing with another girl at prom, I noticed her just several feet away staring at me with this look. You know, the look you give someone like “this could have been us, but you effed that up.” And in return, I gave her that look of how I disappointed her and what potentially could have been. That look where “oh sh*t. I screwed this up big, didn’t I?” Of course, considering how long ago that was, we all move on. And unlike in movies and TV shows, it’s not like I would randomly bump into her down the road to explain to her the situation or express my feelings for her. I messed up. She was into me, and I missed my moment. I have to bite the bullet on this one. The show has to go on. And again, another opportunity missed.

As prom night was wrapping up, there was nothing like hitting up Denny’s to end the night with everyone we went with. Well, most everyone. For me, there was no afterparty to go to. No cottage at Stifler’s moms to get that one last chance to lose ones’ virginity. It was just a late-night meal and back home for a “I didn’t get any” wank. Overall, prom was good. Made some memories with friends but considering how long ago this was, I don’t quite remember all the details. Here’s to prom and hoping to anyone else out there to make decisions you won’t feel like you’ll regret. Salut!
