When The World Is Your Audience

The curtains close. And you’re by yourself. Whether your performance was exhilarating or not, it drains you. Every night you have to reset your mind, your body and soul… just to do it all over again the next day (unless you’re on vacation or call in sick). Which sounds a lot like being in a play. Then there’s you being you. The character the public sees that you hope the personality you’ve created for yourself is likeable. Because the truth is we all want to be liked. It’s just that we sometimes get dealt many bad hands so it kind of makes us moody or unapproachable and leads down a dark road. But that’s life, and it can be exhausting. Whatever you do for a living or the people you meet on a daily basis, you feel like you have to put on a show. That you want to show people a good time. Be the entertainer everyone will remember. Or that could just be me. But pretending to be something or someone you’re not, can lead to bigger issues. Unless you’re acting in a role.

Just remember that you are the center of your own Universe, but so is everyone else. Not every moment is based around you. Sometimes the interactions you have with others could be for them. You’re there to show support, no matter what the role is that you play in their world.

And who knows. Maybe it could lead to you being nominated for a Universal Award for Supporting Actor/Actress. (I don’t know what’s going on anymore. Breaking some sort of 5th wall?)
